The DAC Car Club kicked-off its 2025 programming with a special presentation by General Motors President Mark Reuss.
More than 120 DAC Car Club members and guest joined Car Club President Bruce Babiarz in his first “Tireside Chat” with Mr. Reuss. DAC Car Club Board members were honored for their work in scheduling some 17 events for members for the 2025 calendar year!
The evening program had an array of DAC culinary delights, bar service and offered members an opportunity to ask questions directly of GM President Reuss. Mark graciously spent an hour at the club (where he is also a member) and the program ended with speaker gifts for Mark who said he would wear the DAC Car Club Apparel with pride and said: “I think America’s first car club is really cool.”
Babiarz said: I started a separate company to do interviews with people in all aspects of the automotive world and this night worked out perfectly to join my passion for the DAC Car Club with a related new venture, Tireside Chat, LLC. (More on this later and please register for DAC Car Club events on the DAC Events website).

Just a few days later the DAC Car Club was invited to participate in the pre-view party and Ford Motor Introductions at the Detroit Auto Show on January 9. Show co-chairs Rod Alberts and Sam Klemet greeted some 100 DAC Car Club members at the Delata VIP lounge and then the Ford introduction with speakers including President Jim Farley, CEO William Ford and special guest appearance by Lions quarterback Jared Goff arriving in a Lions Ford 150 limited edition pick-up. Ford introuced a host of cars including the new Mustang GTD racer.
A short stroll away was the Gallery featuring exotic cars from around the world including some 10 cars from the Lauren and David Mendelson collection. Ferrari, Mercedes AMG, Ford GT, Alfa Romeo and many many more!
What a week, what a night for DAC Car Club members…the best is yet to come!
