The DAC Car Club kicked off its 2026 calendar of events with a special meeting on the 7th Floor of the DAC. Special guest speaker, Michael Montri, President of the Detroit Grand Prix, and Vice President of Penske wowed the crowd with a presentation on the Grand Prix and the Indy Car Racing Circuit for 2026.
Guests were also greeted by Sam Klemet, Executive Director of the Detroit Auto Show, who was given an honorary Car Club membership with the DAC CC trophy presented by Board Member Lauren Mendelson for Sam’s close partnership with the DAC Car Club.
The DAC Foundation President Matt Pappas and Executive Director Nancy Maier briefed club members on how they might support the DAC Foundation campaign, including donating a vehicle to the DAC.
Car Club members enjoyed cocktails and a DAC buffet while networking with friends and guests. A great start to the 2026 year of events!
